EA iAMP 200WZ bass combo
As is the case with a coaxial tweeter, both cones move along a common axis, reducing the phasing that can occur between two separate cones when the cabinet is heard from different angles and distances. The result: The combo has a very natural-sounding high end.
While conventional piezo tweeters can sometimes sound "spitty, " with detached, artificial-sounding highs, the EA s top end sounds warm and thick. We played a commercial CD through the iAMP 200 s stereo in and were struck by its clear transparency-it s like a great-sounding home-theater speaker. As such, it might be particularly attractive to players who double on electric and upright.

EA has pushed the speaker technology envelope one more time!
The new iAmp200 WZ Combo incorporates a clever 12" speaker cone design coupled with a new digital amplifier system to produce a seriously loud and lightweight full range combo that is expandable as needed.
The loudspeaker is actually a dual-cone device which simultaneously produces low and high frequency signals from a single voice coil. The transmission line enclosure has been painstakingly tuned for an aggressive but pleasing sound. There are no crossover components to distort or alter the response. The digital amplifier circuitry effortlessly pro-duces 200 watts of Class D power without the noise or inconvenience of a cooling fan. While many prior Class D designs from other companies suffered from poor frequency response at the low and high fre-quency limits, the EA design has a full bandwidth response that is equivalent to, and in many cases better, than other linear type amplifiers.
The angle-mounted preamp section is the tried and proven EA classic design coupled with an onboard Sabine tuner. In addition, there is a rear mounted LINK OUT connector which provides a signal to drive a matching powered extension speaker(s) (see WZ-112 Powered Cabinet).
All that is required to run the extension is a standard microphone cable connecting the two (or as many as desired) cabinets together. The volume from the extension cabinet will track exactly with the volume from the main speaker and will contain whatever tone shaping or signal processing selected at the combo.
Since each powered speaker has it s own LINK IN and LINK OUT connectors, you can connect together as many 200 watt amplifier "blocks" as required. The ultra high efficiency of the speaker and amplifier system will produce sound pressure levels that will rival systems rated at hundreds of watts more. Plus, you get the classic EA sound in a package easily carried with one hand!
